Route : surat- kadodra- NH 8 - till fountain hotel- turn left toward thane - after thane- NH 160 mumbai nasik highway - asahgaon- shahapur- turn right toward shenve- dolkham road- dolkham - sakurli- dehene End point of track at dehene we park our car at Mr suresh dattu a local bolero owner (9209616694 & 7057850694) who further drop as at kasara local station, from kasara to again take jeep to samard village where our track start with ramblers india group Mr mahesh kumar (8080911557)
Sandhan valley is undoubtedly The Valley of Suspense. Sandhan valley is one of the greatest canyons in the Sahyadri mountain ranges. It is a very good combination of a canyon and a valley. Located in the samard village, Nagar district, near the famous fort Ratangad.
Sandhan Valley Trek is a unique experience combining adventure activities such as rappelling, trekking and many other adventure events! Base Village is Samrad Village. If you start trek in morning at around 7-8 am you will reach to Dehene village at around 5-6 pm in evening (total 8.5km distance) from where you can reach to Asangaon local station to reach to Mumbai.
Walking through the narrow streak of valley with 300 ft rock walls on both the sides is a lifetime experience. Exploring Sandhan valley is always a memorable outing and the Konkankada (reverse waterfall found in monsoon) also explore, The difficulty level for trek is moderate. There is one big rappelling spot (60 feet approx.) which need technical expertise and two small rappelling spots( 20-25 feet approx) which needs rope ladder.
our journey start from kasara to samrad 2.5 hr by jeep n on way we see maharstra highest pick kalsubai (1,646 m) and some othors mountains like alang madan kulang we reach at 7:45pm at samard, after brief introduction take dinner (local food; bhakhari made of rice, pitla (made of basen), famous chatni n rice dal n sabji) tenting 300metre far from village in open place take soup + with camp fire n music n anaxri., next day morning wake up call at 6am n after fresh up breakfast pauha with lemon tea. leave village n start trek at 8 am in morning
